Chronology of cameras Kodak

Kodak, at the turn of the century, (the previous one) innovated a lot by launching a number of new film formats. So for each of them, there was a first camera using it. The 3A Folding Pocket was the first one using the format 122, called "Postcard", in 1903.

From 1903 to 1915, the year in which the model was dropped, the number of variants was important. Called Model B Model B-2, Model B-3, Model B-4, Model B-5, Model C. In the last years of its career, this camera was equipped with the Autographic function and this led to its name change in 3A Autographic in 1914.

Of course with Kodak, it's even more complicated than that, as always, there is a multitude of combinations of these models with various different lens and shutters. The combinations were not necessarily the same on US manufacturing and those from Great Britain.

The serial number engraved on the stand helps to navigate (... a little). Here, the copy bears the number 35653-A, which makes it a Model B-2, manufactured between June 1904 and November 1906, which is consistent with the shutter model FPK Automatic that was used on this model from 1903 to 1908.
